VBS 2025: Wonder Junction
Marvel at the Wonder of Jesus!
Join us this year as we journey out to the old west to a place called Wonder Junction. This year’s Vacation Bible School is focused on discovering what Scripture teaches us about Jesus. We will marvel at the wonder of His birth, life, ministry, death, resurrection, and return! Each day, kids will encounter God’s Word through singing, teaching, and exciting activities. Our prayer is that God will use the VBS week to help kids discover for themselves the wonder of knowing the Savior and King of the world, Jesus Christ our Lord.

SCHEDULE

Wonder Junction VBS 2025
June 22-26, 5:00-7:30 p.m.
At Wonder Junction, kids will have five evenings filled with the wonder of Jesus! Each evening begins with a large group assembly where kids are introduced to an aspect of what Scripture teaches us about Jesus. In the assembly, kids will have an opportunity to sing praises to God with lyrics taken directly from Scripture and enjoy a live drama put on by our very own drama team!
After assembly, kids will then go to rotations of snacks, crafts, and recreation. At the end of the evening, older kids will gather together again for closing assembly where they will be taught the truth of Jesus’ birth, life, ministry, death, resurrection, and return. Kindergarten and First Grade kids will learn each evening’s lesson in their own rooms so they can learn in a fun and engaging environment.
Check-in begins at 4:45 p.m. in the lobby of the EBC Kids building. Every kid must be checked-in by a parent/guardian and will be given a name tag. Parents/guardians will also receive a security tag. Then parents/guardians will bring kids to the Worship Center to drop them off.
Pick-up begins at 7:30 p.m. in the main Worship Center. Since the last event of each evening is the closing assembly where kids are learning that day’s lesson, we ask parents/guardians to please wait until 7:30 p.m. to begin picking up. When picking-up, parents/guardians must have the security tag they were given at check-in. If another person is picking kids up, they must have the security tag in their possession or a picture of it on their phone.

OVERVIEW
Each evening, kids will encounter the wonder of Jesus!

Day 1: The Wonder of His Birth
The first day of VBS we will marvel at the wonder of Jesus’ birth! We will see the amazing events surrounding His birth as well as the proclamation to all the earth that the Savior has come!
Bible Passage: Jesus is Born (Matthew 1-2; Luke 2)
Apologetics Focus: Is Jesus the most important person ever born?

Day 2: The Wonder of His Childhood
The account of Jesus’ childhood in Scripture is a wonder. We will learn that Jesus grew up just like children do today. But we will also learn that Jesus’ life proves He is the promised King!
Bible Passage: Jesus at the Temple (Luke 2:39-52)
Apologetics Focus: Is Jesus God or man—or both?

Day 3: The Wonder of His Ministry Years
Our focus for Day 3 will be the amazing things Jesus taught and the miraculous things Jesus did during His ministry years. Jesus proved that He had power over death and the authority to forgive sin!
Bible Passage: Jesus Does Wonderous Things (Selections from the book of Mark)
Apologetics Focus: Has anyone else had the power to raise himself from the dead?

Day 4: The Wonder of His Death and Resurrection
The wonder of today’s lesson is that a perfect man would die for imperfect people. Jesus took the punishment of all sin onto Himself so that people can be forgiven. Amazingly, Jesus’ resurrection shows us that people can also have new life in Him, our Lord and Savior!
Bible Passage: Jesus Dies and Lives Again (Matthew 27-28)
Apologetics Focus: Why did Jesus have to die?

Day 5: The Wonder of His Return
We conclude the week with the wonderous truth: Jesus is coming back! Jesus is the King of kings and we are preparing for His return!
Bible Passage: Jesus is Coming Back (Matthew 25:14-29)
Apologetics Focus: How will Jesus return?

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
We cannot do this without you!
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the ministries here at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Events like this would be impossible without leaders and helpers investing into the lives of the children we are trying to reach. Below you’ll find some information on volunteering for VBS (and possibly beyond).
What are the areas that volunteers can serve?
There are several areas and functions volunteers can help with.
- Leader (Teacher)
- Leader (Guide)
- Helper
- Production
- Other (Food Prep, Security, Check-In, Crafts, Recreation, etc.)
What do leaders do?
Leaders interact directly with the children. For VBS we need two types of leaders. A teaching leader is one that studies the evening’s lesson and presents it to one or more groups of kids within a specific age group. A guiding leader is in charge of a single group of children and guides the group to each station. They are able to meet the needs of the children in their care.
What do helpers do?
Helpers are paired with leaders to support them and help meet the needs of the children. They are essential because a leader only has two hands. Multiple helpers may be assigned to one leader.
What does production involve?
Volunteers helping in the production area are in some way involved with the daily assembly. You may be an actor, stagehand, or running tech in some way.
What other areas can I help in?
There are so many things that need to happen in order to have a fun, safe, and instructive VBS evening. Whether you’re prepping snacks, leading recreational games, or helping with check-ins, your help will be extremely valuable.
Will I get the volunteer position I request?
While we would love for everyone to serve in the role of their first choosing, we cannot guarantee a role may still be open. However, we can definitely place you where you are needed within your comfort level.
Who can volunteer?
All adult volunteers must be active members of Emmanuel Baptist Church and will be required to have a background check. Student volunteers must be 7th Grade or higher and have a parent also volunteering unless permission is given otherwise. Student volunteers are unable to register via the event portal. All student volunteers must be approved by greg@ebccrestview.com.
When do volunteers need to be available?
Most volunteers will need to be on campus no later than 4:40 p.m. each evening. We understand that this may be difficult for some, but it is our hope that the week of VBS be a special occasion for both kids and volunteers. Even if your role does not start until after the large group time, there is still plenty of prep to do each evening. We also hope that volunteers will attend the large group time. Some volunteer positions will not need to be on campus until 5:30 p.m. but these are very limited and will need to have the “go ahead” from the VBS leadership.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Common Questions
What ages is VBS for?
VBS is for all children entering into Kindergarten through entering 6th Grade in the 2025-2026 school year.
When does registration begin?
Volunteer registration is open now. Registration for children begins June 1, 2025.
I am planning on volunteering for this year’s VBS. How do I register my baby or preschooler?
Babies through preschoolers (children in Discovery Park) can only be registered with their parent’s volunteer registration. For more information on registering your baby or preschooler, contact Suzanne Diven (suzanne@ebccrestview.com).
My family does not attend your church, but are my kids able to join your VBS?
Yes! We love to see new faces! Please register through the registration link above. You will need to fill out some additional information when you register so we will be able to keep your children safe while they are in our care.
I am an adult or a teenager that does not attend your church, can I volunteer for VBS?
Because we want to ensure the safety of all children on campus, all adult volunteers must be an active member or Emmanuel Baptist Church and have a background check.
Students (7th-12th grades) wishing to volunteer must be approved by email and cannot register through the event portal. Only students that have a parent already volunteering are eligible to volunteer unless permission is given otherwise. Contact greg@ebccrestview.com to sign up.
I am not sure your beliefs align with mine. How can I know my child will learn biblical truths according to Scripture?
Thank you for asking! We are dedicated to the authority and sufficiency of Scripture as God’s living Word! If you like, please view our statement of beliefs.
