OUR BELIEFS

ABOUT SCRIPTURE

We believe the entire Bible is the breathed-out Word of God and that men were moved by the Holy Spirit to write the very words of Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Therefore, the Bible is without error, it is living and active, and sufficient in all things that it teaches for all generations (Hebrews 4:12). We recognize it as the final authority for living God-honoring lives.

ABOUT GOD

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Mark 1:9-11). God the Father is the head, is perfect in all His attributes, and is sovereign over all creation. Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (God the Son) who became human to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the world through His death and resurrection (John 3:16-21). The Holy Spirit is the helper sent to followers of Jesus revealing the truth of God’s Word and turning our hearts toward Him (John 14:26; Romans 8:14-15).

ABOUT HUMANITY

We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him but was separated from Him through sinful disobedience (Genesis 1:27; Romans 5:12). As a result, all of mankind deserves the just punishment of death and is incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own effort alone (Romans 6:23).

ABOUT SALVATION

We believe that Jesus Christ alone, having lived the perfect life we could not live, could shed His blood and become a sacrifice for our sins. Through His life, death, and resurrection, all sinners are able to believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, receive forgiveness, and become a child of God (Romans 3:23-26).

ABOUT THE CHRISTIAN LIFE

We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for themselves (1 Corinthians 9:22-23; Galatians 2:20). By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Holy Spirit, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ (Romans 8:29-30; 12:2).

ABOUT THE CHURCH

We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head (Colossians 1:18). The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ (Romans 12:4-5). The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world.
