This year’s Vacation Bible School was a blast! Over the course of five evenings, more than 180 kindergarten through sixth grade kids heard about Jesus from eternity past to eternity future. Each evening, the kids began with large group where both the drama and worship teams engaged and prepared them for the evening’s content. Michael Anderson, the Director of Development from Heart of the Bride for Orphans, presented mission moments where kids got to learn about opportunities to share Jesus’ love with kids on the other side of the world. During VBS, kids were challenged to donate school supplies for the Eagles Christian Academy in Kenya, a Heart of the Bride for Orphans mission partner, by filling as many suit cases as possible. They ended up filling five and a half suitcases with construction paper, subject note-books, crayons, pencils, and many other types of school supplies. The kids also rose to the challenge of donating to local missions by bringing over 600 non-perishable food items to donate to Sharing and Caring food pantry in Crestview.
After large group, the kids played hard on the recreation fields, enjoyed delicious snacks, got creative with fun crafts, and discovered Jesus through biblical teaching. I am personally thankful for each and every person who sacrificed their time, rest, and sanity to make this VBS happen! Thank you for pouring into the lives of the children in our community!
