EBC Family,

We are excited to give you the latest update regarding our Children’s Minister Search.

Following a careful and prayerful search, we present Greg Allen as our recommended candidate for this position.  Greg has been a part of our church family for almost 16 years and has faithfully served in our Children’s Ministry for over 2 years.  Soon after volunteering Greg felt God confirming a call to ministry. He began seminary courses in pursuit of a NextGen Ministry Degree from Liberty University. Greg feels honored to be called to pour his heart into the lives of the next generation by equipping leaders and parents to fully embrace their roles in discipling and influencing children for Christ.

In the days ahead, we wanted to give you opportunities to get to know Greg and his heart for ministry.  With this in mind, we have included links to Greg’s background information and a summary of his responses to interview questions.  Additionally, we have included the Search Team Recommendation.

We will introduce Greg as our candidate this coming Sunday, May 31.  We will host a Q&A Session on June 7 at 3:00pm and then plan to gather together for a business meeting on Sunday, June 14, at 3:00pm, to affirm where we see God leading and vote on the position. Both of these gatherings will be hosted on campus and with a live link for those unable to attend in person.  It is our hope that you will plan to participate and commit to pray for clarity and confirmation regarding Greg’s new role.

We look forward to God’s leading as we continue in our next steps for this staff hire.  In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact staff, church leadership, or any of our deacons if you have questions or concerns about our planned way ahead.

Sincerely, EBC Leadership Staff, Servant Lead Team, Deacon Team

Moving Forward

As mentioned in the Open Letter above:

To enable the church to make an informed decision regarding a call to pastoral ministry, several opportunities for you to get to know Greg and his heart for ministry have been planned.

On Sunday, May 31 there will be a pastoral interview at the end of our Worship Service to introduce you to Greg.

On Sunday, June 7 at 3:00pm, there will be Q&A with Greg. This will be a time for the church body to ask questions and get to know him. Because we want all of our faith family to be able to participate, the Q&A will be held on campus and also streamed over Zoom giving you an additional option to watch and submit questions digitally.  We ask that you register for this event here to let us know you are coming on campus or to register to receive the Zoom link to join digitally as this will be a private link.

On Sunday, June 14 at 3:00pm, we will gather for a business meeting on campus to affirm where we see God leading and vote on the position.  Again, in an effort to allow more of our faith family to participate this will also be streamed through Zoom to give you the opportunity to view and participate digitally.  We ask that you register for this event here to let us know you are coming on campus or to register to receive the Zoom link to join digitally as this will be a private link.

Should you have specific questions for Greg, we ask that you submit those to questions@ebccrestview.com.  As always, please contact myself or the deacons with other questions or concerns.

It is our hope that you will plan to participate in these opportunities and encourage others to do the same, as well as commit to pray for confirmation and clarity regarding Greg’s role.
