What a beautiful night to be together and to celebrate ALL that God has done, is doing, and will do through His church and His people. There were over 100 in attendance at Vision Night 2022! We unanimously approved the 2022 Budget. To request a copy of the budget, email brian@ebccrestview.com. We shared a story of a young woman who was in Discovery Park and EBC Kids as a child. During a hard season in foster care, she heard the truths of God and the love of the Savior. This young lady recently came back to EBC to visit to say thank you and share how much of an impact EBC and its volunteers had in her life. It is because of you, our leaders and volunteers, that we can carry out the mission of Leading People to a Relationship with Jesus Christ and share stories like this.

We were able to celebrate all those who trusted in Christ and were baptized this year; 13 baptisms! Our student pastor, Michael Rogers, shared vision for 2022. God continues to bring new families to our church and despite the transition of our Lead Pastor, we are growing! So much so, that our preschool ministry, Discovery Park, has almost doubled in size this year alone. Experiencing significant growth also means our volunteer teams need to grow. Discovery Park has the highest need for volunteers in our church and we need your support! If you’re interested in serving in Discovery Park, or any ministry area at Emmanuel, fill out the Volunteer Application here.

Michael Rogers also shared how our ministry and administrative staff has continued to function smoothly during a season of transition. Our staff works hard to maintain their ministry areas, disciple their leaders, and lead our church into a growing relationship with Jesus; with the support of the Servant Lead Team and Deacons.

We shared an update from our Pastoral Search Team. They have identified team leaders and have had multiple training sessions. The team has also begun accepting resumes. 21 resumes have been received (as of Dec. 5) and resumes will be accepted until February 2022. The Servant Lead Team has identified an Interim Pastoral candidate, Robin Jumper, and you will be seeing more of him in the New Year. His recent sermons can be found at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Ozark, Alabama where he is currently serving as interim pastor.

We closed the evening with a sweet time of worship led by our Worship Director: Kyle Boone. We proclaimed these lyrics over our church and prayed them over 2022:

To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus
All the glory evermore to Him
When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat
Yet not I, but through Christ in me

Church, we ask you to continue to pray for what God has in store for 2022. We love you and we are excited to see God’s faithfulness shown in this next year of ministry.
