OVERVIEW

This November, God is calling us into a consecrated time of prayer and fasting as
a body of believers to ask for guidance, forgiveness, to seek His face and ask Him
to move in power so that His will is done in our lives and in the world around us.
We are fasting to turn our hearts more attentively and undistractedly to the Lord.
True fasting gives birth to humility and alignment with God and prepares our
hearts to be in obedience with whatever He may ask of us.

All members are asked to join in fasting. There are different ways to fast, but they
all include denying your body something that it would normally enjoy. It is similar
to the spiritual killing of “the flesh” or denying the ungodly desire to have your
own way.

You may enter into a liquid fast, a fruits and vegetables only fast, or a fast that
restricts the number of meals. If you are unable to fast from food for medical
reasons, pray and ask the Lord for another comfort/pleasure to sacrifice this
month. Most fasts found in the Bible were food fasts, but there were also occasions
where a “thing” was sacrificed for a set time. We would recommend you limit your
exposure to media and social media so that you can hear clearly from the Lord
and devote more time to prayer and reading God’s Word than others peoples’
thoughts or opinions.

WHY SHOULD WE PRAY FOR UNITY?

God desires it.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even
Aaron’s beard that went down to the skirts of his garments; as the dew of Hermon,
and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord
commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

PSALM 133:1-3

The world needs to see the church (the Bride and representative of Christ) in
unity as a light that leads to Him.

My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me
through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me
and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have
sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we
are one- I in them and you in me- so that they may be brought to complete unity.
Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have
loved me.

JOHN 17:20-23

We really are all part of one body in one God.

For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have
the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually
members one of another.

ROMANS 12: 4-5

HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE

Unity means oneness. It is the opposite of divided. Christians who are united
and surrendered to God will see a mighty move of God. This means that one of
Satan’s goals is to bring disunity in the Church. If he can succeed, then the Church
can be hindered from fulfilling its purpose to make Him known. That is why it is
so important that we fast and pray for unity.

Our weeks will be grouped to focus on unity in the following ways:

WEEK 1: Unity with God
WEEK 2: Unity with one another
WEEK 3: Unity in Mission/ the Will of God
WEEK 4: Unity in moving forward / Embracing God’s vision for 2021

Pray with humility expectantly looking for how God is working to address our
hearts, bring hope, healing and excitement as He moves us together. It all comes
back to God. We are unable to do anything on our own. It is God who even gives
us the will to do good works. We are wretched and dead, but God is able, is ready
and desires to bring sanctification to His church and salvation to a lost world.

This will be the pattern for our devotions each week:

P · Praise Him for who He is, Practice His presence
R
· Repent of your sin and turn back to Him
A
· Ask God to do what only He can do (His will be done, not yours)
Y
· Yield, surrender in love and obedience to whatever He desires to do in your life
